BRENT SUEN, President & Executive Chairman


Brent has 31 years of experience in the capital markets / investment banking industry. He was the youngest hire at Bear Stearns merger arbitrage department in 1987. He also has significant experience with Telecom, Media and Technology (TMT) companies as both investor and advisor. Brent has significant operational experience with both start-ups and expansion stage companies in Silicon Valley during the 1990’s, emerging markets experience in Asia, Eastern Europe and Latin America, and more recently mobile and internet companies in Southeast Asia.

TOM FURUKAWA, Chief Executive Officer


From startups and IPOs to major global enterprises, over last 15 years, has been responsible for defining and building products for some of the world most successful companies, including Yahoo!, IBM, Rubicon Project, and Enthusiast Network.

Previously, CTO of Logiq’s DataLogic subsidiary, and served as CPO at ConversionPoint, leading product development with clients including Intel, Samsung, Nikon & Logitech.

At Ad Exchange, created the firm’s award-winning next-generation marketing technologies.

Earlier, led product marketing at IBM Tivoli, and as head of monetization for Kelly Blue Book, drove 20% increase in website annual advertising revenue.

JOHN MACNEIL, Chief off Staff & Director


John MacNeil has established extensive experience in the both financial services and technology industries over the course of a thirty year career. From 2008 to present, John advised technology, financial technology and renewable energy companies on strategic relationships, financial forecasting, investor relations and capital formation. He was a portfolio manager for technology funds at Schroders Investment Management from 1999-2008. He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School, as well as a BSEE from University of Connecticut.

LIONEL CHOONG, Chief Financial Officer & Director


Lionel has had over 30 years of experience in finance across a number of fields, such as ‘Big 4’ audit, compliance and chief financial officer. He was former vice chairman of Emerson Radio (NYSE: MSN). He was also the former Chief Financial Officer of Byford London, listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Lionel is a chartered accountant & retired as a partner of Deloitte where he headed up the biz development for Corporate finance service lines. He has an MBA from Kellogg-HKUST and a Corporate Finance Diploma from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, UK.

THET TWE AUNG, Chief Technology Officer


Spending over 11 years in software development industries, Thet has in-depth knowledge in various development methodologies, software design patterns, data modeling and hands-on experience with mobile/web programming, socket programming, frameworks, SDKs and APIs. In 2015, he founded and served as a CEO of Escape Pixel, a digital startup in Singapore that provides customized digital solutions to enterprises and businesses. With vision to shape the future of its community, he is also an active contributor/developer of many open source software projects which advance linguistic evolution, localization, and cognition. Thet holds a Bachelor of Science with honors degree in Business Computing and Information Technology from the University of Wales, Prifysgol Cymru.

MATTHEW BRENT, Chief Strategy Officer


Matt has over 10 years’ experience in software and product development. During that time, he built and lead teams from across North America, China, and Southeast Asia to deliver global product for entertainment, media, and technology companies including Sony Computer Entertainment America, Activision Blizzard, The Upper Deck Company, and The Sesame Street Workshop. He received his BA in Philosophy from the University of Illinois, Chicago.

Daniel Urbino, CPA, Chief Operating Officer


Previously served as ConversionPoint’s director, strategy and operations and chief operating officer.

Prior to ConversionPoint, he served as director of accounting, contracts and compliance and director of revenue at AntechDiagnostics.

Earlier served as manager at Windes& McClaughry Accountancy Corporation and Audit Senior at DBBMcKennon.

Holds an MBA from University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business. Holds a B.A. in Business Economics with an Emphasis in Financial Accounting form University of California, Santa Barbara

He is an active certified public accountant in the state of California.

STEVEN J. HARTMAN, Chief Product Officer


25+ years of experience in enterprise software and marketing at major technology companies, including Yahoo!, IBM, Acxiom, Kenshoo, The Rubicon Project, and Siebel Systems.

He served as VP of global marketing at Kenshoo and VP of marketing at Viglink (now Sovrn).

Earlier, he served as VP of product marketing at Acxiom (now LiveRamp Holdings), a SaaS-based data connectivity platform.

Previously, he served as VP of marketing at The Rubicon Project, where he led its global marketing.

EDDIE FOONG, Vice President of Product for AppLogiq


Eddie Foong has over 17 years of experience in IT, sales and marketing and operations. He was involved in a RFID technology company that developed and changed Singapore National Library Books borrowing system island-wide. He previously headed the sales and marketing department of Info. Technology within MNCs and government agencies. He graduated with a Class 1 BEng Honours Degree and IBM Award holder from University of Strathclyde, U.K.

MATTHEW BURLAGE, Director


Matt has spent the last three decades involved in financing and advising Asia’s leading corporations, government enterprises and financial institutions and has been involved in some of the most groundbreaking transactions in Asia, particularly in the telecom, media and technology (TMT) sectors. In 2000, Matt co-founded IRG, a boutique financial advisory and investment firm focused on the core growth sectors in Asia. Matt advises Asian and global corporates, private equity funds, hedge funds and sovereign wealth funds on a range of transactions including mergers, acquisitions, corporate restructurings, and debt capital and equity capital financings. Matt is also responsible for the firm’s investment strategy and management of its proprietary capital. Before co-founding IRG, Matt was a Managing Director and Head of Industry Groups at Lehman Brothers in Hong Kong. Matt has a MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University, and attended the Japanese Language Institute of Sophia University.

ROSS O’BRIEN, Director


Ross is an analyst, writer, presenter, and consultant focused on the economies and business environments of the Asia-Pacific, with over 25 years of experience in the region. His analysis surrounds Asia’s Innovation Economy—the intersection of information technology and the region’s broader society and economy. For nine years he was Director of the Economist Corporate Network. Currently, and beginning in 2003, Ross was Managing Director of the Hong Kong operations of Intercedent Asia, a region-wide partnership of B2B market consultants, which provides research based market entry and positioning advice in several verticals across Asia. Ross’ practice focuses on market entry strategies for telecoms and IT companies, in managed services and wireless solutions. His client work involved extensive research work in over a dozen economies in Asia, including extended field research in China, Indonesia, Vietnam and Bangladesh. Ross has an AB in Asian Studies and Anthropology from Dartmouth College (1989), and an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley’s Haas School (1996). He is conversant and literate in Mandarin and Indonesian.

BRETT LAY, Director


Brett is a seasoned business executive with 28 years of operating experience including 15 years as a Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) for both private and public companies. Brett has served as company officer in diverse sized organizations including; Asia Pacific CFO of MediaOne Group, now part of AT&T, CFO at Pihana Pacific/Equinix, and recently completed the sale of Pacnet to Telstra for US$750 million, where he was CFO from 2007 to 2015. Brett has his Masters of Science Finance and Masters of Science Management, from the University of Colorado, Denver.

JOSH JACOBS, Director


Josh is a former Omnicom and Yahoo! senior executive, with 30 years of innovation in digital media and advertising, sales and marketing, and strategic business and consumer product development.

He most recently served in a number of leadership positions at Maven, a leading media platform for digital publishers. As president and executive chair, he led the company through the acquisition and integration of four media companies that included Sports Illustrated, Hub Pages, Say Media, and TheStreet featuring Jim Cramer.

Prior to Maven, Josh served as president of services at Kik Interactive. Earlier, he served as CEO of Accuen Media, an Omnicom agency, and president of platforms and partnerships for the Omnicom Media Group. Before Accuen, he served as SVP of advertising products and marketing at Glam Media.

He has served as vice president and general manager of Yahoo!’s ad technology marketplace, where he was responsible for the general management and product strategy of Yahoo!’s display advertising partnership platform. This included overseeing Yahoo!’s RightMedia Exchange, the company’s advertising platform business. He was responsible for creating the company’s first off-network display advertising products and partnerships.

Earlier, Josh served as president of X1 Technologies, an Idealab company, and was co-founder of Bigstep.com, a small business publishing platform, acquired by Affinity Internet. He also sits on the board of NASDAQ-traded Resonant, a leader in radio frequency technology, and Invoca, an AI-powered call tracking and analytics platform.

SIM FARAR, Senior Advisor


Mr. Farar brings to Weyland Tech 30 years of experience in both public and private sectors. From 1999 – 2000, following a presidential appointment and confirmation by the U.S. Senate, Mr. Farar served as the United States Representative to the 54th General Assembly at the United Nations. In February 2011, again following presidential appointment and confirmation by the U.S. Senate, Mr. Farar was named as a Commissioner to the U.S. Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy, which is charged with appraising U.S. Government activities intended to understand, inform and influence foreign publics. The Commission reports to the President, the Secretary of State, and Congress. He currently serves as Chair of that Commission. From 2001 to 2005 he also served on the Board of Fire and Police Pension Commissioners of the City of Los Angeles.

In the private sector, Mr. Farar has served as CEO, Chairman of the Board, Director and consultant to a number of companies, including JDF Investment Co. LLC, IFC Financial Services Corp, and has served as an adviser to several other private and public companies.

ANDRE PESCHONG, Senior Advisor


Peschong brings to Weyland more than 25 years of senior management and capital markets experience. He has structured, negotiated and closed more than $500 million in corporate financing, with M&A transactions totaling more than $100 million in enterprise value. He co-founded Bridgewater Capital of Newport Beach, California in 1994, and earlier served as CEO of a fast-growing consumer products company.

As a partner of Bridgewater, Peschong provides strategic advisory, capital formation, and comprehensive business and revenue development for public and private companies across a spectrum of industries, from mobile and security technology to consumer products, eCommerce, life sciences and health. He has spearheaded the transition of several companies from private to publicly-traded, creating more than $500 million in value, and has co-managed three investment funds.

A recognized expert in angel investing, M&A and finance, Peschong has authored or been featured in articles on Forbes.com, Businessweek, New York Times, US News, The Street, and MarketWatch.

Peschong currently serves on the board of directors of StereoVision Imaging, a leader in 3D facial recognition and identity management solutions. He played a key role in the company’s acquisition last year of Digital Signal Corporation, a leading innovator in LiDAR-based (laser) 3D facial intelligence technology. He also serves on the advisory board of London-based Falcon Capital, which structures and executes international investments, as well as advises emerging growth companies on M&A strategy, joint ventures and divestitures.

HAIG NEWTON, CEO & Co-Founder


Previously chief technology officer of ConversionPoint Technologies.

Haig brings skills and knowledge in a variety of areas, including design, finance, web development, accounting, technical development, and branding. 

With more than 15 years in the internet marketing space and five years of software development and eCommerce, he has a proven track record of start-ups and enterprise-level custom architecture, working with teams large and small. 

Developed and launched 18 proprietary platforms, and developed technology that increased gross margin by 27% and generated more than 500 million ad impressions per year.

Holds B.S. in Business and Advertising, with minor in Computer Science from University of Kansas.

Earlier served as chief marketing officer of ConversionPoint Technologies.

Jahnke is an industry-leading expert on media buying strategies, and has developed and launched thousands of successful digital marketing campaigns resulting in millions per month in product sales.

Jahnke understands human nature and uses that knowledge in launching, managing and converting effective product campaigns. In fact, his revolutionary media buying strategies are now used by many today to drastically reduce customer acquisition costs.

ROD GRANERO, CPA, Chief Financial Officer


14+ years of management experience in leading and building the accounting, finance, treasury, financial planning, tax, acquisition and investor relations functions of various companies.

Granero held various management roles at high-growth startup companies as well as large companies, such as Verizon and Youngs Market, across various industries.

Most recently, Granero was the CFO of ConversionPoint Technologies. He began his career in public accounting as a senior auditor.
